Marshall Cross Country Trail Signs<\/h3>\n<p><span>The Mattie H. Marshall Cross Country Trail opened to the public in 2018. It\u2019s been used by Phoebe Sumter Medical Center employees, visitors and community members. At busy times, there may not be enough treatment rooms available for patients. The REM process places a doctor or nurse practitioner adjacent to the triage area so that patients are seen immediately after arrival to the ER. Laboratory studies can be collected and treatment started up front, rather than having the patient wait until a treatment room is available. It shows how the heart is beating. If a patient is having an acute heart attack, our goal to have them out the door and on the way to intervention is 30 minutes. To properly care for our community, we need our EKG machines to be up-to-date and functioning without delays.
