Phoebe Sumter Encourages Women to Prioritize Breast Health Through Sip & Screen Mammography Events
Americus, GA | October 2, 2026 – Phoebe Sumter Medical Center (PSMC) is making breast cancer screening more convenient and encouraging women to take charge of their health through its upcoming Sip & Screen mammography events on October 8 and October 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the PSMC Mammography Department.
The special after-hours screening events are designed to provide women with a comfortable and welcoming opportunity to complete their annual mammogram while enjoying light refreshments. Early detection remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against breast cancer, and regular mammograms can help identify cancer before symptoms appear.
“Breast cancer screening saves lives, and we want to make it as easy as possible for women to access this important preventive care. Our Sip & Screen events offer flexible evening appointments for women who may find it difficult to schedule screenings during regular business hours,” said Kelsey Reed, DNP, PSMC Chief Nursing Officer & Chief Operating Officer.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Phoebe Sumter encourages women to talk with their healthcare providers about recommended screening guidelines and to make breast health a priority.
“We are thrilled about the ability to do an event like this and truly want it to be successful,” said Reed.
Women interested in participating are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 229-931-1375.
