Types of Ovarian Cancers We Treat:

There are three primary categories of ovarian tumors, each classified by their origin:

  • Epithelial cell tumors: Originating from the surface cells of the ovary, these tumors constitute the majority of ovarian malignancies.
  • Germ cell tumors: These tumors arise from the egg-producing cells in the ovary.
  • Stromal cell tumors: These tumors form in the ovarian structural tissue responsible for generating female hormones.

Treatment

The primary therapeutic approach for ovarian cancer is surgery, which entails the removal of the reproductive organs and any affected tissues. Depending on the situation, surgeons may opt for laparoscopy, a less invasive procedure, or laparotomy, a more invasive procedure necessitating an abdominal incision. Other treatment options may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapy.
