Neonatal Transport Team
As Southwest Georgia’s designated Perinatal Center, the Perinatal Outreach Department at Phoebe serves the educational needs for both maternal and neonatal problems that may arise anywhere in Southwest Georgia.
Phoebe being one of six Regional Perinatal Centers has its own dedicated Neonatal Transport Team. The Transport Team is comprised of a highly-trained registered nurse and respiratory therapist that serve over 22 counties in our region.
Our team performs nearly 200 transports each year. Through use of our mobile intensive care unit and specialized transporters, our team is able to provide individualized care to our tiniest population. Even when on transport, Phoebe incorporates the latest technology and best practices by using the most current technology in Neonatology. Such specialized care includes the use of twin transporters, high frequency ventilation, and a mobileTecotherm to initiate active cooling for qualifying infants while in the field.
