Bereavement Support at Phoebe Sumter Hospice
The death of a loved one brings enormous changes, and everyone grieves in their own individual way. Phoebe Sumter Hospice has experience helping family and friends transition through the grieving process. Phoebe Hospice provides continuing contact and support for family and friends for at least 13 months following the death of a loved one.
In addition to support groups, we provide one-on-one support by phone or in-person. From the point of admission to hospice, both the social worker and chaplain assess the need for bereavement services, including loss support. They are trained to identify expressions of loss and provide the needed support. After the death of your loved one, the hospice social worker will call and provide grief support and in-person, over the phone or group support as needed. Your hospice team is available to provide additional bereavement support when you need it most.
Every year, Phoebe Sumter Hospice hosts a bi-annual memorial service to honor and remember our loved ones who have died. Look for information about the service in early spring and fall of each year.
