Maureen Jackson has spent her entire nursing career at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  She began working here as a nurse extern in our OR before earning her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Darton College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Thomas University.  She later earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University and rose through the ranks of nursing leadership at Phoebe.

During her years as Vice President of Nursing, Maureen’s responsibilities often shifted, and she ended up leading virtually every nursing unit in our hospital at one time or another.  She was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer in 2023 and has led our commitment to improving quality, safety and patient experience metrics.

Dr. Jason Smith is the Chief Medical Officer at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Dr. Smith was born and raised in Douglasville and graduated from Mercer University before attending the Medical College of Georgia …
