Counseling for Cancer Patients and Families
Cancer can involve significant psychological, social and financial challenges for patients and their families. At the Phoebe Cancer Center in Albany, Georgia, helping our patients address these challenges is just as much a part of the healing process as medical treatment.
A social worker is always available to assist patients and families with any of these important non-medical issues. Support and encouragement are offered through a wide variety of services.
We can help with practical needs such as assistance with:
- Lodging (The Light House)
- Medications
- Insurance issues
- Financial counseling
And for patients and families struggling with the stress of a cancer diagnosis or treatment, our social worker provides both a sympathetic ear and practical advice.
Help is available! To speak with a social worker, simply call 229-312-7124. If they are busy with other patients or after hours, leave a message and one will get back to you as soon as possible.
