Dr. Jani joined Phoebe’s Cancer Center team in 2003. He practices hematology, oncology, palliative care and serves as a physician for Phoebe’s Hospice service. Dr. Jani is the Medical Director of Hematology and Oncology, and the Chief of Staff for the Cancer Center.
Dr. Jani strongly believes in value-based medicine and providing medical care to patients and families as a whole unit.
“The bottom line is…take care of each patient like they are your family. Each patient is different, has different needs, different psychological and emotional needs, and different circumstances. We are here to learn from each other and provide the best individualized care,” says Dr. Jani.
Dr. Jani completed Internal Medicine and Primary medical training at New York Methodist Hospital (affiliated with Cornell Medical Center). He then completed training in Geriatrics at the University of South Florida, followed by a program in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Massachusetts and the Executive Program of Business of Medicine at John’s Hopkins University.
Dr. Jani is actively engaged in clinical research at state and national levels and is president elect of Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO). Dr. Jani is part of the Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and is very active in providing education to high school students, medical residents, fellows and staff to improve the quality of patient care.
