Dr. Tongol has been a physician at Phoebe Cancer Center for over 25 years. He brings a creative approach to caring for his patients. Oftentimes he can be found playing his guitar, singing, or reciting original poems for his patients.
Dr. Tongol brings a unique perspective as an oncologist: he has been the primary caregiver to a cancer patient. He understands, first-hand, the impact a cancer diagnosis can bring to a person, a family, and a community. Through it all, he inspires all to “Keep the faith.”
After completing his initial medical training in the Philippines, Dr. Tongol completed is residency in Internal Medicine at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center (SUNY) in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
