The Wheatley Society

Over many years of giving, the Wheatley family of Americus, GA has become synonymous with charitable contributions in our community. It was the Wheatley family who donated the original land on which Sumter Regional Hospital once stood. Out of respect and to honor the family, we created the Wheatley Society to give special recognition to our committed benefactors, who like the Wheatley family, desire to invest in health care excellence and ultimately in the community’s health and wellness as a whole.

Membership in the Wheatley Society is extended to philanthropists who become partners in the provision of high quality healthcare services at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center through a one-time donation of $10,000 or more, or a long-term pledge of $10,000 or more over a 3-year period. Wheatley Society gifts are used to support the greatest needs of Phoebe Sumter Medical Center as decided by the Foundation Board of Directors.

In recognition of their generosity, Wheatley Society Members receive:

  • Their name listed on the Wheatley Society Recognition wall inside the hospital lobby and on our Wheatley Society webpage.
  • A unique, personalized gift commemorating your membership.
  • Invitations to Wheatley Society Recognition events and invitations and recognition at other special events.
