Phoebe Celebrates ‘30 for 30’: $30,000 Campaign Honors 30 Years as a Children’s Miracle Network Partner
Albany, GA | May 12, 2026 – Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) is celebrating a major milestone this May: 30 years as a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals partner hospital. In recognition of three decades of supporting pediatric care in southwest Georgia, the Phoebe Foundation has set a $30,000 fundraising goal during CMN’s annual May is for Miracle’s campaign.
Since becoming a CMN partner hospital, PPMH has relied on CMN support to strengthen care for the region’s smallest and most vulnerable patients. Funds raised through CMN have directly supported PPMH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatrics department, helping provide advanced equipment, innovative technology, and family‑centered care environments.
“Thirty years as a CMN partner hospital is a huge milestone and reflects the long‑standing commitment PPMH leaders, corporate partners, and our community have made to children and families across southwest Georgia. Because of this partnership, our NICU and Pediatrics department are equipped with top‑tier resources that allow us to give our smallest patients the very best care possible,” said Jailyn Baggett, Phoebe Foundation CMN Coordinator.
Over the past 30 years, CMN funds raised locally through corporate partners and community donations have helped ensure PPMH’s pediatric units have access to advanced medical equipment and services that may not otherwise be available.
“Without the support we receive through CMN, our NICU and Pediatrics department would not have the advanced equipment and services they do today. These funds truly help shape and strengthen pediatric care at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital,” said Parker Douglas, Phoebe Foundation Director.
A recent example of CMN’s local impact is the new NICU located in PPMH’s new Trauma & Critical Care Tower, which was designed to enhance care for critically ill newborns while providing a more supportive, accommodating space for families.
“The new NICU is a great example of how families are being better served at PPMH through CMN dollars. Donations made at corporate partner locations or directly through the CMN website helped make this facility possible and better meet the needs of both our babies and their families,” said Douglas.
CMN support extends beyond the hospital through PPMH’s designated NICU ambulance, which is outfitted to provide the same level of care available inside the NICU. The specialized transport team serves more than 20 surrounding counties, bringing newborns in need of intensive care to PPMH for lifesaving treatment.
“Anything our NICU team can do inside the unit; they can also do in the back of that ambulance. Without CMN dollars, we would not be able to operate this specialized NICU ambulance, and we’re fortunate to have another one on the way. These resources are truly lifesaving for babies throughout southwest Georgia,” said Baggett.
CMN local support and impact also extend to critical pediatric occupational therapy and audiology equipment funded through Phoebe Northwest. These CMN-supported resources help ensure young patients have access to specialized tools that promote developmental progress, improve communication, and enhance daily functioning. By investing locally, CMN helps Phoebe Northwest provide high-quality, family-centered rehabilitation services that support children and their families close to home.
“CMN’s local support makes a meaningful difference for the children we serve. The pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy equipment funded through Phoebe Northwest allows our team to deliver more effective, engaging care and helps our patients build the skills they need to thrive,” said Sabine Patton, Phoebe Outpatient Rehab Manager.
The May is for Miracles campaign is a PPMH‑specific, internal CMN fundraiser held annually throughout May. Hospital departments participate in a friendly competition, selling the iconic CMN balloons and decorating their units to show support for pediatric care.
“May is for Miracles is such an exciting time at PPMH. Our employees do a phenomenal job recognizing the importance of being a CMN partner hospital and get incredibly energized about coming together to support our pediatric patients,” said Baggett.
In honor of this milestone year, the Phoebe Foundation aligned the campaign’s fundraising goal with PPMH’s 30‑year partnership, $30,000 for 30 years.
“A 30‑year partnership with CMN is a big deal, and we don’t take that lightly. Setting a $30,000 goal is symbolic of those 30 years and reflects our hope that the community will continue to rally behind PPMH to support our smallest patients,” said Baggett.
All funds raised during May is for Miracles go directly to CMN and are restricted exclusively for PPMH’s NICU and Pediatrics unit. Donations help purchase essential equipment, new technology, occupational and physical therapy tools, audiology equipment, and other critical resources, allowing departments to respond to patient needs as they arise. Community members can support the campaign by donating online, purchasing CMN balloons from participating hospital departments, buying a May is for Miracles t‑shirt, or partnering as a local business.
“When businesses and individuals support May is for Miracles, those dollars immediately begin helping children treated at PPMH. We are incredibly grateful for the continued buy‑in from our corporate partners and the generosity of our community,” said Baggett.
As Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital celebrates 30 years as a Children’s Miracle Network partner hospital, the continued support of employees, corporate partners, and community members during May is for Miracles ensures that lifesaving pediatric care remains strong throughout southwest Georgia. Together, this lasting partnership honors three decades of impact while helping build the next generation of miracles for the babies and children who count on PPMH today and in the years to come.
