Phoebe Dedicates Roses for Donate Life Rose Parade Float

Albany, GA | December 26, 2024Phoebe is proud to continue its partnership with LifeLink of Georgia and Donate Life America by dedicating roses to be placed in vials on the 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float.

DSC02420 1Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital President Deb Angerami and Phoebe Sumter Medical Center President Carlye Walton shared personal messages of hope and remembrance honoring donors, recipients and others who have been touched by organ, eye and tissue donation.  Their roses will join thousands of others to create a dedication garden that is a featured design element on the float each year.

“Every year, the Donate Life float celebrates the beauty of life and helps educate people around the country about the importance of organ donation.  Phoebe is proud to support and facilitate organ, eye and tissue donations, and we are pleased to take part in this event which will encourage discussion about this important topic,” Angerami said.

Carlyles MessageThe 2025 Rose Parade theme, Best Day Ever, celebrates life’s best moments – those unexpected times that bring a smile, warm our hearts and fill us with joy.  While for donor families losing a loved one represents one of the most difficult moments of their lives, organ, eye and tissue donation brings a ray of hope to see their loved ones live on in others.  For transplant recipients, donation gives them bittersweet feelings of happiness for receiving the gift of life, gratitude to their donor and grief for the donor family’s loss.  Celebrating its 22nd year, the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float continues its mission to save and heal lives by sharing the gift of life and delivering the message of organ, eye and tissue donation to the world.

The 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life float’s theme is Let Your Life Soar, and it features a vibrant scene inspired by the beloved Japanese celebration of Children’s Day.  This year’s float honors tradition, family and love within the donation and transplantation community.  Tune in on January 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. EST to watch the Rose Parade and see the OneLegacy Donate Life float.

DSC02416 1In the Unites States today, there are more than 100,000 people waiting for a life-saving organ and hundreds of thousands more whose lives could be healed through eye and tissue transplantation.  A single organ and tissue donor can save up to eight lives and heal as many as 75 more.  Individuals can register their donation decision at www.donatelifegeorgia.org or when obtaining or renewing a driver’s license.  Further information about the OneLegacy Donate Life float and facts about donation and transplantation can be found at www.donatelife.org.
