Phoebe Family Medicine Residency Celebrates Class of 2025 and Honors Outstanding Faculty and Residents

Residency 2025 Ceremony 4Albany, GA | July 1, 2025 – Phoebe Family Medicine Residency (PFMR) celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2025 with a special ceremony honoring the dedication, achievements, and future plans of its residents, faculty, and staff. The event included the presentation of intern certificates, resident and teaching awards, and the introduction of the incoming Class of 2028.

The ceremony featured remarks from leaders including Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital President Deb Angerami and PFMR Associate Program Director Dr. Tiera Barron who is a PFMR graduate – as well as Phoebe Putney Health System Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dianna Grant and PFMR Program Director Dr. Clifford Dunn.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduates and award recipients. This year’s class

exemplifies the mission of the residency, to develop skilled, compassionate family

physicians who are committed to serving their communities. Watching them grow as

both clinicians and leaders has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Dr.

Dunn said.

The following eight graduates were recognized as they prepare to serve patients in diverse healthcare settings across the country. Dr. Thanh Huynh will remain in Albany, joining the Phoebe Family Medicine Residency Faculty, a testament to the program’s continued impact on local healthcare.

  • Kirti Chakote, MD – Empire Medical Services, Brooklyn, New York
  • Soraya Djadjo, MD – Memorial Hospital, Savannah, Georgia
  • Joseph Elphingstone, MD – Sports Medicine Fellowship at UAB, Birmingham, Alabama
  • Edwina Henry, MD – Aylo Health, Stockbridge, Georgia
  • Thanh Huynh, MD – Phoebe Family Medicine Residency Faculty, Albany, Georgia
  • Brian Ritcher, MD – Beloit Memorial Hospital, Beloit, Wisconsin
  • Brittney Thomas, DO – Aylo Health, McDonough, Georgia
