Phoebe Foundation Invests More Than $170,000 in Care for Mothers and Babies at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital

Albany, GA | September 9, 2026 – From welcoming a new baby into the world to providing specialized care when a newborn needs additional support, the teams at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) are there for families during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

Thanks to the generosity of Phoebe Foundation donors, more than $170,000 is being invested in Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), helping provide important resources for mothers, babies and families throughout their care experience.

The Phoebe Foundation recently provided approximately $140,000 to the NICU and $32,000 to Labor & Delivery. The NICU provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, while the Labor & Delivery team supports mothers and babies throughout childbirth and those first important moments together.

“As a mom, I know what it means to have the very best care available close to home, during pregnancy, throughout childbirth and beyond,” said Parker Douglas, Director of the Phoebe Foundation. “My children were born at Phoebe Putney, and I was born here, too, so this gift is especially meaningful to me. I’m proud to be part of a Foundation and hospital that care so deeply for mothers, babies and families in our community, and I’m equally grateful to our donors who make investments like this possible.”

Among the resources made possible through this funding is a Sentec tCOM+, a specialized monitoring system for the NICU that allows the care team to continuously and non-invasively monitor important respiratory information for newborns. For Phoebe’s tiniest and most vulnerable patients, the technology allows caregivers to closely monitor their needs while minimizing unnecessary disruptions.

We are incredibly grateful to the Foundation and its donors for investing in the families we are so privileged to serve.”
