Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital CNA Receives Phoebe’s First-Ever BEE Award
Albany, GA | September 22, 2025 – Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) launched a new employee recognition program by honoring a beloved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Nicole Jackson is Phoebe’s first recipient of the BEE Award, a new recognition that celebrates the extraordinary contributions of non-nursing support staff members who go above and beyond to provide compassionate, patient-centered care every day.
Nicole was chosen for the inaugural award because of her selfless dedication to patients and her team. Her nomination highlighted her natural ability to ease the stress of patients, comfort families, and uplift colleagues through kindness and initiative.
One story described how Nicole stepped in during an IV insertion, gently distracting and calming the patient, which allowed the procedure to be completed successfully.
Nicole is also known for going out of her way to meet patient and team needs, whether it’s purchasing clothes for patients from the gift shop with her own money, organizing birthday celebrations, or simply showing up each day with a smile and a willingness to help. “Nicole is an asset to our team, and we are blessed to have her,” her nomination read.
The BEE Award, which stands for Being Excellent Every Day, was created as a complement to the internationally recognized DAISY Award for nurses. While the DAISY Award honors the compassion and clinical expertise of nurses, the BEE Award highlights the essential role of non-nursing staff. Together, these awards emphasize the symbiotic relationship between nurses and their colleagues, underscoring that excellent patient care depends on the entire healthcare team.
“Nicole truly exemplifies what it means to Be Excellent Every Day. She consistently demonstrates compassion, integrity, and dedication to her patients and team, even in the face of her own personal challenges. Her actions reflect the very best of our Phoebe Family,” said Deb Angerami, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital President.
Patients, families, visitors, and colleagues are encouraged to nominate Phoebe team members for the BEE Award when they witness extraordinary acts of kindness, professionalism, or service. Each nomination is a testament to the values that drive Phoebe’s vision: to make every life they touch better.
“It is especially meaningful that Nicole is the very first recipient of this award at Phoebe. We are proud to recognize the extraordinary work of our non-nursing staff and to celebrate the vital role they play alongside our nurses in providing exceptional care to every patient, every day,” said Angerami.
