2026 Men’s Health Fair: Screen. Prevent. Win. Stay In The Game! Saturday June 20 8 AM - 12 PM Albany State University West Gym 2400 Gillionville Road Albany, GeorgiaAlbany, GA | May 28, 2026 – Phoebe is encouraging men across Southwest Georgia to take charge of their health at the 2026 Men’s Health Fair: ‘Stay In The Game. The event is a free  community event focused on prevention, early detection, and healthy living.

The annual Men’s Health Fair will take place Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Albany State University West Gym, located at 2400 Gillionville Road. Centered around the theme “Stay In The Game,” the fair highlights the importance of routine health screenings and proactive care.

Screenings will be offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., giving men of all ages the opportunity to access critical health services at no cost. Available screenings include:

  • Prostate cancer screenings
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Cholesterol screenings
  • Glucose (diabetes) testing
  • HIV and syphilis testing

“Unfortunately, men often aren’t as proactive about our health as we should be. Women tend to see their doctors more regularly, especially for checkups and preventive screenings. We want to close that gap and encourage men to proudly take control of their health. Our Men’s Health Fair is a great way to get men focused on their wellbeing in a casual and enjoyable environment, and we encourage men throughout the community to join us,” said Derek Heard, MD, Phoebe Medical Director for Primary Care.

This Men’s Health Fair creates a welcoming environment where men can comfortably engage in conversations about their health and wellness.

In addition to free screenings, attendees will receive free event T-shirts and fresh fruits and vegetables while supplies last, promoting healthier lifestyle choices beyond the event.

Health experts and community partners will also be on-site to provide education about common health conditions and share practical tips for improving overall wellness.

Phoebe encourages all men in the community to attend, especially during Father’s Day weekend, as a reminder that caring for their health is one of the most important steps they can take for themselves and their families.

This event is made possible through partnerships with local organizations, including 100 Black Men of Southwest Georgia, Inc., Albany State University, Albany Technical College, Dougherty County Health Department, Morehouse School of Medicine, Flint River Fresh, Project Elevation, and others.
