Phoebe to Host “Chop It Up” Men’s Health Fair to Promote Wellness
Albany, GA | May 22, 2025 – The 2025 “Chop It Up” Men’s Health Fair, a free community event focused on encouraging men to take charge of their health will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Albany State University West Gym, located at 2400 Gillionville Road.
Screenings will be offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., providing ample opportunity for men of all ages to access essential health services. Available screenings will include:
- Prostate cancer screenings
- Blood pressure checks
- Diabetes testing
- Cholesterol screening
- HIV testing
“Chop It Up” embraces the barbershop theme to create a relaxed and engaging environment, where health conversations are as common as a fresh haircut.
“Men often avoid regular checkups or wait until health issues become serious. Our health fair gives us a chance to reach men in a setting that feels comfortable and familiar, while providing life-saving screenings,” said Keisa Mansfield, Community Outreach Manager for the Phoebe Cancer Center.
Phoebe encourages all men in the community to take advantage of these free screenings and wellness education to gain valuable insights into their health.
“Prevention is the best medicine. A simple test or conversation at this event could lead to early detection and better outcomes for conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and prostate cancer,” said Mansfield.
Phoebe remains committed to improving community health and increasing access to preventive care across Southwest Georgia and encourages all men attend the health fair on Fathers’ Day weekend.
