PPMH Nurse Honored with Daisy Award for Going Above and Beyond
Albany, GA | September 23, 2025 – Few people can touch lives the way a compassionate nurse can, and this month, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) proudly celebrates one of its own who has done just that. Stephanie Jackson, RN, has been named the September 2025 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses recipient after receiving two nominations from her fellow Phoebe Family team members.
Her colleagues described her as “one of a kind,” consistently going above and beyond to care for patients and empower those around her. One nomination read, “She is one of a kind in my book. She goes beyond her call of duty to make sure the patients and families are comfortable and satisfied with the care they receive from Phoebe, and she does it with grace. She loves every patient as if they were her family member.”
A second nomination echoed that stating, “She always goes above and beyond for those around her.”
Stephanie’s excellence extends far beyond the bedside. Both nominations highlighted her dedication to mentoring, training, and educating fellow nurses, ensuring safe, high-quality care today and preparing the next generation of nurses for tomorrow.
“Stories like these remind us why the DAISY Award is so important. Stephanie embodies the very spirit of nursing, compassion, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to excellence. She not only delivers exceptional care to her patients but also is what uplifts and guides her colleagues. That kind of leadership and heart is what makes Phoebe so special,” said Maureen Jackson, PPMH Chief Nursing Officer.
The recognition not only celebrates the exceptional care Stephanie provides but also highlights the ripple effect she creates throughout the hospital. By uplifting her colleagues and mentoring the next generation of nurses, her influence extends far beyond the walls of a single patient’s room.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate Stephanie as our September DAISY Award winner. She represents the best of what it means to be a nurse. She truly reflects the values of the nursing profession and the mission of Phoebe to make every life we touch better,” said Jackson.
