Malcolm Jefferson, MD

Dr. Malcolm Jefferson is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in general thoracic surgery. He provides surgical treatment for diseases of the lungs, esophagus, and mediastinum, with a focus on minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques that can help patients recover more quickly and return to their daily lives sooner.

Dr. Jefferson earned his medical degree and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before completing a Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

His clinical interests include thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and advancing innovative surgical techniques that improve outcomes and expand access to specialized care throughout Southwest Georgia. Dr. Jefferson is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care close to home for the patients and communities he serves.
