Medical Tower One – First Floor Elevator Lobby CLOSED
As of Monday, July 15, 2024, Medical Tower One, First Floor Elevator Lobby will be closed due to construction. We know this is a highly-trafficked corridor for our patients and visitors. We will work as swiftly as possible to complete the project to lessen the disruption as much as possible.
4th Avenue Returns as Access Point to Phoebe ER
Beginning Monday, September 9, 4th Avenue will reopen at the Jefferson Street intersection. During this phase of construction, 4th Avenue will be closed just past the parking garage entrance toward the Trauma & Critical Care Tower. Traffic will no longer be detoured to the alley, but will be directed from 4th Avenue into the parking garage where patients and visitors will access the Emergency Center from 4th Avenue through the parking deck.
Information & Updates…
As part of the new expansion of our ER at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, we have installed a new entrance and waiting area which will help us more efficiently and effectively triage and register patients in our busy ER. It will also provide us more room to ensure social distancing for our emergency patients and the caregivers who accompany them.
The modular unit located in the Emergency Center parking lot is open and serves as the new ‘front door’ to the Emergency Center. Inside the unit, our Registration, Security and Emergency Center team are ready to provide care to patients, as well as assist them into the hospital should more extensive care be needed.
A few things to remember with this traffic update:
- To access the parking deck, employee/physicians, patients and visitors will need to turn onto 4th Avenue Alley from Jefferson Street. All employees, patients and visitors will enter the parking deck from the west entrance facing the Emergency Center. The first floor in the parking deck is reserved for patients and visitors. Employees/Physicians will park on the upper levels.
- Do not open any gate or move any fencing surrounding the construction sites. We understand construction around the Emergency Center is inconvenient. However, those barriers are in place for your safety.
We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance our facility and service to our community.
