From day one, our new residents are introduced to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and the City of Albany. Local leaders and hospital staff host “Media Day,” a special ceremonial day welcoming residents with open arms.
During the welcome ceremony, residents are presented with white coats to symbolize the fact that they are now full-fledged, working physicians.
Each resident is also given a rolling welcome cart by The Albany Chamber of Commerce filled with a variety of coupons, discounts, free memberships and subscriptions, and numerous gifts donated by various businesses and organizations in the community.
